Secretary of State visit
The Secretary of State for Education visited us on Friday 20th April and met with students and staff.
Mr Gove spent about an hour in School and spoke with Miss Robins and Mr Gauthier about Francis Bacon’s conversion to Academy status including the project developments so far, our plans for the future and the challenges that the school faces as it nears the launch date of the ‘Samuel Ryder Academy’. He also sought their views on current Government education policy before visiting a Year 10 English lesson and the library where the School Council were taking part in an anti-bullying workshop. He then asked the students questions about the changes to the school so far and their hopes for the future.
